QualiCal International Srl, headquartered in Bergamo, Italy, is proud to announce the signature of a new strategic contract with SAIL — IISCO Steel Plant (ISP), located in Burnpur, West Bengal, India, for the supply of 4 x 600 TPD Synthesis® Twin-Shaft Lime Kilns.

This major achievement marks a new chapter in QualiCal’s long-standing partnership with SAIL Group, one of India’s largest and most respected integrated steel producers, and reaffirms the company’s leadership in delivering energy-efficient and sustainable lime production technologies to the Indian steel industry.

A Legacy of Partnership and Proven Performance

The collaboration between SAIL and QualiCal began more than a decade ago with the successful delivery of a 300 TPD Synthesis® kiln at SAIL Durgapur Steel Plant. That project not only validated the reliability and performance of QualiCal’s design but also laid the foundation for mutual trust and long-term cooperation.

Today, with this new 4 x Synthesis 600 TPD installation, QualiCal strengthens its role as a strategic partner in SAIL’s ongoing capacity expansion program, designed to support India’s fast-growing demand for high-quality steel and sustainable industrial infrastructure.

Supporting SAIL’s Expansion and Decarbonization Strategy

The IISCO Steel Plant, a key unit under Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), is currently undergoing an extensive modernization and expansion program aimed at boosting production capacity while improving efficiency and environmental performance.

The installation of four new Synthesis® 600 TPD Lime Kilns will significantly enhance IISCO’s self-sufficiency in lime production, ensuring high reactivity, stable output, and optimized fuel consumption, all aligned with SAIL’s long-term decarbonization roadmap.

The Synthesis® kiln design, known for its Symmetric & Simple architecture, combines operational flexibility and low specific heat consumption, enabling consistent lime quality across a wide range of operational conditions.

QualiPOOL India — Building Locally, Delivering Globally

In line with QualiCal’s NEXT GENERATION LIME Vision 2025 and #MakeInIndia strategy, the IISCO project will be executed through a shared responsibility model between QualiCal’s global engineering team and its QualiPOOL India partners, leveraging local manufacturing and technical know-how.

Under this collaborative model:

• QualiCal International will provide the core engineering, design license, and key proprietary components of the Synthesis® kiln.
• Manishri Refractories and Ceramics Pvt Ltd and Accurate Industrial Automation Pvt Ltd will lead the local manufacturing, fabrication, and site execution activities, ensuring quality, precision, and compliance with QualiCal’s standards.

QualiCal’s India-based supervision team will coordinate commissioning and performance validation, ensuring full alignment with project milestones and technical expectations.
